WANG YAXUAN—Activity Reflection

 Last week, I conducted practice on image editing on Wikipedia. Through activities such as adding images to the Wikimedia Commons and adding image tags, I clearly realized that there is a complete and strict process for properly handling various media materials on public and open content platforms. In all contribution stages, the issue of copyright and authorization is always the core point. Any upload and release of image materials must obtain legal and compliant usage licenses, which is the bottom line. From the perspective of content retention, the Wikimedia platform has clear content review and removal mechanisms. Only by strictly following the correct upload steps and submitting complete and compliant materials can the uploaded materials avoid being deleted without reason. Through practice, I found that in order to ensure that the uploaded content can be stably displayed and long-term available, it is necessary to have complete data identifiers, such as keywords, source descriptions, tags, etc. At the same time, these data identifiers can also help other users quickly find the pictures they need. Wikipedia has now become an important source of public information. Only when every contributor creates rigorously and maintains continuously can a reliable digital information resource library be jointly constructed.
